Don’t Open That Door is the third anthology of creepy tales inspired by images taken around New Orleans. Working with the New Orleans Video Access Center (NOVAC), young photographer Kayla Andrus captured interesting photos from the city. 826 New Orleans used these photos to lead workshops in schools and at our writing center, supporting students in creating spooky stories. Students studied the pictures to note interesting details, then posed questions they had the pictures. They wove those details and questions into engaging and eerie narratives.
