About This Book

Every Spring Semester, the Young Writers’ Council, a group of 10 high school students, are tasked with choosing a second publication project. They could have written a blog, a play, or a book that only comprised of their 10 voices, but that wasn’t enough for them. They wanted to use their platform to provide a space for more teens to be heard- so they created a call for submissions to this literary magazine, i said what i said. A call for submissions that centered those who have a voice, yet, often go unheard. The title, i said what i said, is intentional. These youth have something to say, period, and it’s our job as educators and adults to listen to them. As the editor-in-chief, Alyssa Moore wrote perfectly, this project ”is the youth, by youth.”
